The Kick Ranch Vineyard is located at the western foothills of Spring Mountain in the Mayacamas Mountain range. It is considered a particular golden spot within Sonoma County and has over the years shown to provide delicious cool-climate Rhone varieties. These vines are planted along the gentle hillside slopes, in deep soils with river gravel and experience cooling winds directly from the Petaluma Gap. The Grenache is fully destemmed before then fermenting on skins in a single open-top tank for roughly two weeks. The grapes are then pressed into large, used French oak and are left to age for 20 months before bottling without fining or filtration.
Aromatically this wine is heavily perfumed with notes of ripe raspberries, dried lavender and thyme, and soft rose petals. On the palate, the wine is equally red fruit-forward with classically fresh cool climate acidity, a sumptuous midpalate, and velvety finish.
