The vineyard site, Beckstoffer To Kalon located in Oakville, has been extremely well received internationally in the past ten years. Its proximity to the western foothills of Oakville, along with its soil combination of clay loam and ancient streambeds riddle with rocks, produces beautifully structured, complex wine. TOR Wines works with six blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon and two blocks of Cabernet Franc predominately from blocks B, D, and F. These blocks possess heavy amounts of the ancient streambed soils and experience warm days with cool coastal fog. Upon harvest and press, the wine is aged in 100% small French oak barrels for 20 months before being bottled without fining or filtration.
Aromatically the wine is vibrant, with cassis, cranberry, pencil shavings, and damp fresh earth. On the palate, the wine is full of velvet tannins, finesse, and supple ripe fruit flavors that linger on the palate delightfully.
