TOR Wines was introduced to the 3 acres of Beresini vineyards back in 2008 by mutual friend and winemaker, Larry Hyde. Located on the southern section of Carneros, this plot of old vine Chardonnay planted three decades ago produces an extremely small crop, with intensely concentrated fruit. Due to its location, the vines, which grow upon well-drained creek beds of clay loam and rocks, experience the cooling aspect of the coastal fog, balancing their ripening process. The wine is made in Burgundian style- with native yeast fermentation occurring in small French barrels, of which they are predominately made up of 3-year dry-aged barrels. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
Aromatically this wine is perfumed with heavy notes of white wildflowers, honeysuckle, lemon balm, and candied ginger. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with rich notes of tangerines, peaches, and wet stones.
