The Carneros Chardonnay is made up of the three historic vineyard sites TOR Wines works with. They utilize each site for the specific characteristics they offer within the fruit. The Beresini vineyard, with 30-year-old, dry-farmed vines, provides texture and complexity. The Hyde Vineyard, coming for a windier, cooler location within Carneros provides minerality. The Durell vineyard provides an opulent richness that screams California. The grapes are harvested individually, depending on their own ripeness, before going directly into the barrel for natural yeast fermentation to occur. Malolactic occurs between 6 and 9 months before the wine is then bottled after aging in new oak for 11 months.
Aromatically the wine is as diverse as it is complex, with ripe citrus, flowers, buttery brioche, cream, and minerality. On the palate, the wine has a creamy texture with fresh stone fruits, zippy citrus, and gripping minerality showcasing all three vineyard sites beautifully.
