100% Manzoni Bianco
This grape variety was created in the 1930s by Prof. Luigi Manzoni, Director of the Conegliano Research Centre, as a cross between Riesling and Pinot Bianco. Its characteristics include loose-berried clusters, thick skins, high acid levels and lower concentrations of sugar. Today’s increasingly extreme weather patterns make this grape variety very attractive for Alto Adige.
VINEYARD 10 year-old vines from the Paradeis vineyard above the village of Magrè and another location in Pochi. Altitude 1,148 - 1,476 feet with sandy soils heavy on Dolomite chalk.
VINIFICATION The grape juice is left in contact with the skins for about 10 days in steel tanks. The wine ages on the lees for 9 months in large casks.
