This estate Riesling is composed of grapes grown upon Devonian slate and diabase within Saarburg. The grapes are entirely hand picked, and due to the cooler climate within the region, the grapes are brighter and less ripe. The grapes ferment and age with 100% neutral Fuder barrels, all in their extremely humid, deeply underground cellar.
Aromatically this wine is much more fruity or, 'lieblich' with perfumed noted of cirtrus and orchard fruits. The palate is extremely light and bright with a fruit driven acidity, and the finish is long with flavors of lemon zest and apple tarts.
