Vietti, 2007 Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera D'Alba
90
"Vietti's 2007 Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne is a more seamless, round wine than the Asti Tre Vigne. There is a wonderful purity to the fruit here, along with a supple, creamy finish. This, too, is a very serious effort, especially for the money. The 2007 Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne is made predominantly from vineyards in Castiglione Falletto (including a portion of Scarrone), with a touch of fruit from Ravera. It is another compelling value from Vietti. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012."

Vietti, 2007 Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera D'Alba

"Vietti's 2006 Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne is made in the soft, round style that is typical of the wines of Alba. The wine offers up layers of super-ripe dark fruit, leather spices, smoke and earthiness with awesome textural depth and richness. This pure, generous Barbera should continue to drink beautifully for several years. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012."

2007 Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera D'Alba
Vietti
Grapes are selected from the 3
top vineyards of Monforte, Barolo and Castiglione Falletto. The vineyards are almost 30/35 years old.
Ripe red cherry and vanilla
aromas. With hints of violets the Barbera
d'Alba Tre Vigne is slightly rounder in structure than the
Barbera d'Asti. On the palate it shows bright acidity,
soft tannins with good integration of oak, good complexity
antipasti, rich salads, grilled seasoned
vegetables, hearty soups/stews, pastas or with breaded
veal, pork, chicken with light sauces. |
