Robert Parker
Piancornello, 2003 Piancornello Brunello Montalci
90
"Reveals a feminine expression of sangiovese in its earthiness, smoke, spices and ripe red fruit. It possesses lovely inner sweetness, with an additional touch of complexity from the oak, and well-integrated tannins, all of which convey an impression of outstanding balance and poise. This nuanced, delicate brunello is likely to offer its finest drinking within the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015."

Gambero Rosso
Piancornello, 2003 Piancornello Brunello Montalci
2 GLASSES
"Delivers enviably fresh aromas with blackberry and cherry jam enhanced by hints of aromatic herbs. It's fresh on the palate too with mature smooth tannins; a sign of good vineyard management in a complicated summer like 2003, and the finish is well developed and mouthfilling."

2003 Piancornello Brunello Montalci
Piancornello
The wine is aged in new and used French Oak for ten months and then in large wooden casks for two years. You will find aromas of red fruits and earth with a palate of intense fruit flavors. The finish is long. Try with wild boar. |
