"Plum aromas, with hints of dried mushroom and flowers. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and a berry, chocolate and light vanilla character. Balanced and chewy. Focused. A well-made wine. Best after 2012."

2004 Oberto Barolo Alberella
Andrea Oberto
Andrea and Fabio are not the sole owners of this vineyard but the only ones who name their Barolo after the vineyard name. It
is located near the town of Barolo, is only 1.5 hectares, southeast facing, with 35 year old vines. After a saignee of approximately
15% and a warm fermentation (30 C), the wine is aged for 26 months in 60% oak barrels, 50% of which are new. 40% of those
new barrels are Tonneau. The wine then spends 6 months in stainless steel and and 6 months in bottle.
A flowery bouquet and
very rich and well-structured on the palate, with a very persistent, sweet aftertaste. Try with stewed meats.
