Alois Lageder, 2008 Lageder 'Beta Delta' Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio
90
"Apple pie and lemon curd aromas follow through to a thick, full-bodied palate of lemon and cooked apple, with bright, fresh acidity. Minerally and very stylish. Complex. This is the first vintage of this biodynamically produced white. Drink now."

"From August 2010: 89 Points.
The 2008 Chardonnay-Pinot Grigio Beta Delta is a precise, mineral-driven white. I am generally not a fan of blends like these, but the Beta-Delta is a beautifully made white that impresses for its detailed fruit and long, refreshing finish. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014.
From August 2009: 88 Points.
The 2008 Chardonnay-Pinot Grigio Beta Delta is a steely, mineral-driven wine with an attractive combination of varietal fruit, expressive aromatics and bright acidity. Ideally it is best enjoyed over the next few years. The Beta Delta is a new wine from Lageder made exclusively from estate-owned vineyards that are Demeter-certified biodynamic. If this wine is any indication, the move towards biodynamic farming seems very promising to say the least. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011."

"This is an organically farmed blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio that shows beautifully pristine aromas of stone fruit and mountain flowers. Alois Lageder is a perfectionist and an elegant winemaker and his vast talents shine here too."

2008 Lageder 'Beta Delta' Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio
Alois Lageder
Quite perfumed, rich aroma with mineral notes; impressions of ripe subtropical fruits. Well balanced flavor, medium bodied, with good persistence on the palate. Nice citrus touches and an attractive crisp, fresh fruit aftertaste. Good length. Drink between 2010 - 2013.
Suggested Food: All types of starters, seafood (fish and shellfish), white meat and poultry.
