"Once again, the Chardonnay Chuy is one of the most intriguing and unique wines in the Failla range. This rugged, mountain site yields wines of real distinction. All of that comes through in a Chardonnay that is powerful and understated at the same time. A host of bright, acid-driven tones give the flavors fabulous vibrancy. There is so much to admire here. Fifty year old vines planted on St. George rootstock and red, volcanic soils are some of the features visitors will notice in this Moon Mountain vineyard."

"Ultrarich and intense, this is a potent expression of extracted Chardonnay, reliant on a core of citrus-infused pear, peach and tangerine flavors. Maintains full-bodied weight and can stand short-term cellaring. Drink now through 2021. 500 cases made."

VINEYARD: Planted in 1968, these plantings of Shot-Wente selection represent some of the oldest continuously producing Chardonnay vines in California. Tucked into the Mayacamas Mountains at 1200 feet and overlooking Sonoma Valley this dramatic vineyard produces some of the most concentrated and intensely aromatic wine in this lineup.

VINIFICATION: Fermenting and aging a quarter of the wine in a uniquely designated concrete-egg, while the remainder lies sur lie in primarily neutral French oak. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
